Originally published in 1988, this is the paperback edition of traditional knitted lace patterns for motifs, borders and trims.

Collected from 19th century sources, the instructions have been updated. Instructions are given for all of the stitches used and patterns are suitable for beginners through to experienced knitters. Each pattern is illustrated with a colour photograph of the finished article. Includes a brief history of the craft. Includes a bibliography.
