Alf's War: With the Sixth Infantry Division

When Alf Parbery signed up for the AIF he could not have imagined what the next five years held for him. He joined the signals & was sent to 16 Brigade. He served at Bardia & Tobruk. He then served in Greece, Syria, Egypt.

With Japan in the war, Alf returned home via a long stay in Ceylon, then north to the Kokoda Campaign & the subsequent brutal fighting on the Papuan north coast Sanananda, he ended his army life in New Guinea.
