Birds and Where to Watch Them in New South Wales

Gives general information on bird watching - how and what to observe, tips on equipment, and distinguishing features of certain birds.

As well, the state is divided into 17 broad natural history regions such as Sydney and Illawarra, the Riverina, and Lord Howe Island, with two additional regions - one for Oceanic birds and one for Norfolk Island. Within the text for each region there is a description of the birds to be found there and the best places to look for them, plus a sketch map defining the area.

The most typical birds of each region are illustrated on two pages of colour paintings and a comprehensive species list at the end gives distribution notes.
