Birds of the World

A lavishly illustrated celebration of the work of nineteenth-century ornithologist and bird artist John Gould. More than 400 colour illustrations are selected from ten of his most important works, representing birds from around the world.

The images are accompanied by information on each species' habitat, behaviour and geographical range, while introductory material explores Gould's life, travels and the talented team of artists and lithographers who helped produce his monumental natural-history publications.
