Golden Summers: Heidelberg and beyond

This book covers the most celebrated period in the history of Australian art: those years from 1885 until shortly after the turn of the century which were dominated by Tom Roberts, Arthur Streeton, Charles Conder and Fred McCubbin. Properly known as the Heidelberg School, they ranged far beyond their own initial forays into the bush around Melbourne. They painted Sydney Harbour, ventured up the Hawkesbury River and also depicted Australia's emerging cities, pastoral industries and rapidly disappearing pioneering past.
