Published in 1865, Hunting Sketches by Anthony Trollope is a collection of essays discussing fox-hunting.

The essays mostly comment on the motives behind hunting and the pleasures that arise from it. He further discusses the varying styles of hunting and which ones, according to him, are more successful, and reflects on the psychology of a society in which, at times, people are forced to indulge in recreations that they otherwise do not enjoy.
