Maestro frank Coughlan
The name Frank Coughlan is synonymous with the Sydney Trocadero. His rapport with the public is legendary - everyone knew Frank.
As well as dance music, Frank and his orchestra brought Sydney's lovers of jazz and swing to the Trocadero whenever Swyngphonic concerts were held there. Frank's rise to fame through the jazz era of the 1920s, his success in London playing with the foremost dance orchestras of the time and his ultimate achievement as bandleader of the Sydney Trocadero Orchestra in 1936 are told within these pages.
