Memories of Fred

FRED HOLLOWS always loved telling yarns. He also loved hearing them, especially if he figured in them.

Unfortunately, this book tells the yarns without Fred being around to hear them, but he would have laughed and argued about the version of the story and enjoyed them.

Professor Fred Hollows - humanitarian, eye doctor, runner, mountain climber and Australian of the Year - made many friends, and the contributors to this book all knew him in one capacity or another as friend, workmate, mentor, lover, patient, student, acquaintance.
