Seaside Gardening in Australia

This book is entirely directed towards the growing of ornamental plants in Australian coastal areas. Such seaside gardening has hitherto received little or no attention from the many gardening books already in print.

As well as providing a list of plant descriptions, specific chapters highlight the problems of soil enrichment, the creation of micro-climates, the establishment of new gardens and the remodelling of old ones. There are special hints for those whose home is a unit and whose garden a balcony.

The author, Marcelle Monfries, is a practical and experienced gardener. Eighty per cent of the hundreds of plants she mentions she's actually grown in seaside conditions.
