SHANE CRAWFORD is one of Australian Football's great players. He won the Brownlow Medal, Australian Football's highest individual honour, in 1999, the year he was appointed captain of the Hawthorn Football Club. This is his life's scrapbook, with poignant stories of his development from a sports-obsessed youngster in the small NSW country town of Finley, through boarding school, to one of the greats of the AFL. He is one of three boys, raised by a single mother to whom he remains devoted; he became a Catholic to ensure he would not be seen as 'different' when he left home for boarding school at Assumption College in Kilmore. His consistent approach in life has been to be the best - an attitude he has extended as he prepares for life after footy.
Shane Crawford EXPOSED is an autobiography with a difference. Crawford, supported by a large collection of photographs (there are more than 500 images in the book), reveals himself to be a driven personality, intensely loyal, charming, zany and prepared to accept nothing but the best possible outcome.'I wanted this book to show me as I know I am. It's frank, it exposes everything there is to know about me - and that's important. People say I'm different, and looking through these pages, I can see why they'd say that. Should I change my ways after reading what I've written? No way' - Shane Crawford
