The Photography of Stavros Pippos

The Photography of Stavros Pippos is the culmination of a life-long interest in the art of natural light photography.

Stavros is renowned for his creative use of light and for his wide-ranging subject interests. More recently he has taken on the challenge of mastering photographic printing techniques from the twentieth century, an era when monochrome photography was at its zenith.

He uses large-format wooden cameras, and meticulously hand-crafts platinum-palladium, gelatine-silver and silver-chloride prints in his purpose-built darkroom.

The collection of hand-made monochrome prints that forms the nucleus of this book represents photography in its purest form: a perfect union of skills and vision.
