Young Farmers Connect is thrilled to launch our very own independent annual magazine. A completely volunteer-run initiative our vision is to create a yearly publication focussing on food systems issues and farming culture.
This year we are dedicating these 160 pages to elevating and celebrating the roles and voices of women.
We have delved deeply into the worlds of women - from those who are passionately driving the fair food movement, building resilient communities, exploring suburban farming and feeding their community.
Women who are tackling social isolation, supply chains, celebrating Indigenous culture and creating pathways for new and young farmers who are joining the wave of folks returning to the land.
These female farmers challenge us to reimagine our understanding of what a farmer looks like - and join a swelling chorus of voices calling for a radical shift in our attitudes toward agriculture and demanding action to combat climate change - while demonstrating that they are not waiting to get started.
We hope this magazine is both provocative and a demonstration of radical optimism.
100% of profits from this publication will be directed to the Young Farmers Connect not-for-profit education fund to support new and young farmers and to the development of a legal support toolkit for small scale farmers.
